**Unfortunately we are SOLD OUT for this showing
Fred and Mick have left the best years of their lives behind them. At a beautiful spa resort in Switzerland, they try to find new inspiration and peace. Unfortunately, the vacation only brings more doubts and fears, mainly because the old friends are constantly reminded of their faded glory. As expected from Paolo Sorrentino, Youth is once again a magnificent, surreal, and at times slightly abstract work of art, filled with stunning visuals and razor-sharp dialogue.
Paolo Sorrentino’s "Youth" shares themes with his earlier masterpiece La Grande Bellezza, focusing on the fear of life’s brevity and looming death. This time, instead of an aging Italian journalist, we follow two elderly artists.
Fred Ballinger, played by Michael Caine, is a retired, world-famous composer. His friend, Mick Boyle, portrayed by Harvey Keitel, is a celebrated film director working on his final masterpiece. Despite their long friendship, they know little about each other, as they only share the good moments. But as they face the reality of aging, pretending everything is fine becomes increasingly difficult.
This film is a must-see, because:
1. Youth was nominated for an Oscar, a Palme d'Or, and 56 other awards, taking home 24 of them.
2. Sorrentino once again proves he's one of the greatest directors of our time.
3. This drama boasts an all-star cast featuring none other than Michael Caine, Harvey Keitel, Paul Dano, Jane Fonda, and Rachel Weisz in this fantastic film.
Doors open at 19:00.
