Butterfly Chairs by Arne Jacobsen for Fritz Hansen

€1.290,00

Set of four multifunctional chairs by Arne Jacobsen for Fritz Hansen.

Originally designed in 1955, they quickly became a staple in midcentury modern homes and offices. The simplistic design is constructed out of a seat crafted from layers of plywood, sculpted into a butterfly shape. This unique construction provides both comfort and a natural aesthetic, perfect for extended periods of use.

Arne Jacobsen (1902-1971), a former architect, is renowned for his furniture designs. However, it was during the later stage of his career that he produced his most iconic pieces. Jacobsen's main focus was on simplicity and clean aesthetics, without compromising on technical quality and ergonomics. While his architectural style was mainly influenced by cubist functionalism, his furniture designs often featured organic shapes. Yet, all of his works share a common element – the perfect proportion in both the furniture itself and its placement within a space.
