The Trench armchair captures Philippe Malouin’s vision for Acerbis in a compact yet sculptural form. Part of the Trench Collection, it reinterprets upholstered seating through bold proportions, a pure silhouette, and exceptional comfort. Its shape feels almost elemental, with a strong visual presence that is softened by a welcoming and refined appearance.

A single flowing curve defines both the seat and backrest, giving the armchair a calm and harmonious expression. This continuous line creates a sense of softness while emphasising the chair’s sculptural quality. Generous volumes and carefully balanced proportions make it a striking piece from every angle, whether placed on its own or combined with other elements from the collection.

What makes the Trench armchair especially distinctive is the contrast between its solid appearance and its visual lightness. The upholstered body seems almost suspended above the floor, supported by two legs positioned perpendicularly to the frame. This detail introduces a subtle architectural character and gives the design a refined, contemporary edge.

Designed in 2025, the Trench Collection brings together purity of line, comfort, and understated elegance. Beneath its soft exterior, the armchair features a steel structure covered in differentiated density polyurethane. The legs are made of pine plywood, also padded in differentiated density polyurethane, and finished with thermoplastic feet. The non removable upholstery fully envelops the piece, reinforcing its seamless and monolithic aesthetic.
